This Princess S78 was a late 2018 retrofit project for PR Nautica. Before collecting this Princess S78 on behalf of the client we carried out multiple Pre Delivery inspections (PDI’s) to keep the client up to date. These audits and photographs were happily received by the client and reassured the owner on the build schedule. Once all snags were resolved by the factory and the client was happy, we were able to collect the vessel. Before starting the retro work our skipper preformed a sea trial and checked all systems were working correctly.
SALOON TV UPGRADE
Our technicians upgraded the Saloon by completely removing the standard angled sofa unit and replacing the carcass. Our highly skilled carpenters fabricated a bespoke unit using European oak. By modifying the unit we were able to meet the clients request and fit a larger TV, resulting the first 8K TV fitted to a Princess. The motorised up/down TV lift mechanism is concealed within the angled sofa unit to discreetly stow away the television when not in use or the yacht is underway.
The client tasked us with a vision to change the current layout of the crew cabin by adding two additional bunks. As standard the crew cabin is constructed of two bunks, a tall wardrobe, storage unit and low lockers along with a heads with a separate shower cubicle. In the main area of the crew cabin our carpenters removed the outboard side of the cabin to create an open space. New bunks were installed identical to the two already in the cabin, including headboards, mattresses and bedding. Utilising the space, a wardrobe and pigeon lockers were added for storage use. Our experience technicians relayed replacement flooring and traps to allow access to services. Some modifications also took place in the heads. The shower cubicle was removed and a pull out shower head was fitted along with a shower curtain to seal the area in front on the toilet. The modification also included relocating the aircon vents, water maker controls and sockets.
We also designed a bespoke work desk in the upper saloon seating area. The client requested us to fit a manual lift up desk. We designed this to match in with all surrounding areas using the chosen wood finish, Alba oak gloss. When stowed away the desk folded into the side of the bulkhead and below the railings discreetly. The table was fitted with a stainless raise and hinge fitting and added support with a stainless angled support leg to create a solid working desk. A double socket power plug was fitted below seating.
